Investment by Nadi businessman, Bobby Khan, continues in the Western Division.
He has begun work on his new $2 million investment building a shopping mall complex in Cuvu, Nadroga.
The shopping mall, planned to be completed by next year is expected to provide a modern retailing edge to the Cuvu landscape.
Mr Khan is the same man who also recently opened another U Save Shopping Centre in Nadi.
He is the director of Western Homes Limited, Buy in Fiji.com and Votualevu Shopping Complex in Nadi.
He said the Cuvu complex will be similar to the Votualevu Shopping Complex he established in Nadi last year and is optimistic about its success.
“Sigatoka is a very good tourist destination, especially Cuvu. But if we look at Cuvu, there is nothing up market in terms of shopping,” he said.
“So we are building a complex which will help small shops there as well.
“A nice coffee shop on the roadside would be really good for the locals there as well.”

Other investments

Mr Khan spent over 20 residing in New Zealand.
He is now encouraging other business people to take advantage of potential investment opportunities in peri-urban and rural areas, noting the importance of services rendered for these residents.
Mr Khan is also constructing an amusement centre and a wedding hall at Votualevu in Nadi, which is expected to be opened next month.
