Fiji’s vibrant underwater world will today take centre stage during the Fiji Hotel and Tourism Association (FHTA) Dive Fiji Expo 2013 at the Plantation Island Resort in the Mamanuca Group.
The event includes international travel agents and media personnel from key tourism markets in Asia, Europe, the Americas and Australia and New Zealand.
Fiji Hotel and Tourism is confident of another successful Dive Expo with the hope of developing Fiji’s niche diving markets.
The Expo will also witness the launch of a new video titled ‘Fiji: Diving’s Red Hot Chilli Pepper’, to showcase local dive attractions and will be followed by the Dive Trade, as part of Fiji’s 11th Dive Fiesta.
FHTA president Dixon Seeto welcomed the development of niche markets in China and India, particularly with the additional reach provided by the new Fiji Airways A330.
“It is a great pleasure to have these travel agents and media personnel here in Fiji to experience the fantastic diving available at various resorts in the country.
“They will also take part in the association’s Dive Fiji Expo 2013, which would allow commercial deals and investment to be made,’’ he said.
The fiesta provides a valuable marketing tool for Fiji’s diving industry.
