The Naviti Resort is back with a bang.
The Resort’s local guests have played a huge role in the Resort’s comeback post a fire incident last year.
Resort general manager Dave Woodman said the Resort has been extremely popular with guests from overseas and Fiji.
He said that after the fire incident which razed portions of the Resort, the local support had been tremendous.
Mr Woodman said after the fire of last year, the Resort opted to remain open for their staff and guests who continued to make bookings.

The comeback
Out of the Resort’s 220 rooms, currently 146 rooms are open. The decision to reduce the number of rooms were as a result of decreased facilities of the Resort.
Mr Woodman said they didn’t want guests to be queuing up for facilities such as kids club, gym and restaurants.
To be able to give their guests the best possible service, the management chose not to look at the business side of things only.
Out of their five restaurants only one- the Bamboo Terrace survived the fire. Now to cater for the increased demand, a new state of the art kitchen with char grill had been constructed to seat about 180 guests.

The staff and mataqali
Mr Woodman said their staff had been under tremendous pressure to provide the best services with reduced resources.
However, he said, their staff rose to the occasion.
Mr Woodman said a percentage of their profit is given to their Mataqali, which is another reason who the Resort continued  operating after the fire.

The Resort
The Resort’s owner Richard Chui will be in the country shortly to decide how best the Resort can go back to providing all their facilities to guests.
Those checking into the Resort can be assured of the best services.
Mr Woodman said all facilities  such as the spa, kid’s club and eating facilities are up and running.
He said guests staying here can be assured of all their facilities and in top condition.
For locals, Mr Woodman said, very attractive and affordable packages readily available.
