Our national airline, Air Pacific, has once again ranked fifth ‘Best Airline in the Australia Pacific Region’.
The good news was announced during the prestigious 2013 Skytrax World Airline Awards held during the Paris Airshow in France this week.
Air Pacific, which will be rebranded Fiji Airways next week, was behind Qantas Airways, Virgin Australia, Air New Zealand and Jetstar Airways.
More recognition for Air Pacific as it also grabbed fifth spot for ‘Best Airline Staff Service in the Australia Pacific Region.’
The airline also moved up one in the global airline ranking claiming 95th spot.
The World Airline Awards
The awards are the most prestigious accolades for the world airline industry and are a global benchmark of airline excellence.
It is managed by the aviation research organisation, Skytrax Research of London, UK.
The survey operated during a 10-month period, with more than 100 nationalities of customer from over 160 countries around the world participating.
The 2013 awards are based on 18.2 million completed customer surveys, and include over 200 airlines worldwide.
