Residents of Tavua are better placed as consumers, after the opening of a retail outlet in their municipality.

The gold mining town is home to Al Hamd Smart Living’s newest and sixth chain store.

The $60,000 investment brings with it a host of consumer choices in the latest LED lights, office furniture, contemporary prefabricated container houses from China, chic blinds, and more.

Managing director Ashfaaq Khan said 20 units of prefab, two-bedroom expandable houses, were sold locally, and more were expected to be sold in coming months.

“These handpicked prefab container homes are ISO9001 certificated, and built to my specifications,” Mr Khan said.

Prefab offices are on the market for $12,000, while the two-bedroom houses are available for $14,000.

Meanwhile, the official opening of the Tavua branch met with an overwhelming crowd response, where customers saw first-hand a curated selection of products designed to enhance the home, office or living space, with style and functionality.

Al Hamd’s other outlets are located in Lautoka, Labasa, Suva, Nausori and Nadi.

The company has come a long way since it launched it business operations in 2012.
