Zonah United has expanded digitally after signing a partnership with Vodafone’s VitiKart platform in Suva.
With this signing, Zonah United has become an official partner and a merchant on the VitiKart platform making it easier for consumers to purchase their wide range of locally produced products such as spices, herbs, health supplements and fresh produce.
Vodafone Fiji head of marketing, brands and digital, Saileshni Chand said that by joining, Zonah United would be able to take advantage of the services offerred on the VitiKart platform.
Current active merchants in VitiKart stands at 107.
“This aligns well with VitiKart’s vision of assisting our micro, small and medium enterprises to have their online store in this digital age,” Ms Chand said.
“By providing free signup on all MSMEs which VitiKart is known for, this is our part in shaping the future of MSMEs,” she said.
Zonah United director Naheeda Maqbool said they have collaborated with the VitiKart platform in an effort to help in the development of Fiji’s agriculture sector.
“We support rural disadvantaged women across Fiji, trying to train, empower and employment pathways,” Ms Maqbool said.
“Now that it’s the digital era, we need to make it easier for our customers and promote the brand and promote Fijian promote in particular.
“We need to move with the pace otherwise we might miss out on providing services to Fijians on the digital platforms.

“The main idea is to reduce the level of imports coming into Fiji and promote Fijian made products as this is where us Fijians get benefitted from.
“If we are able to find platforms as such, we can make such strategies to help benefit the entire nation.
“Fiji has a great potential collaborating with Vodafone would be the best way to access our customers,” she said.
Ms Maqbool said they are aiming to take VitiKart to the export level by next year.
“We want to see a sustainable Fiji and that is the driving force behind Zonah United.
“We want to see a Fiji where there is opportunity for everybody in the rural areas as well,” she said.
Since the inception of VitiKart, 10,000 visits per month have been made on the platform and 350 transactions take place on a weekly basis.
