Hot Bread Kitchen opened its new and improved Labasa outlet at the Damodar Labasa complex yesterday with an investment of about $950,000.
The opening prompted 27 new employment opportunities for the northerners.
The outlet alone is an upgrade from the congested and old branch that was located opposite the Labasa bus stand.
Branch manager, Arieta Vosanibola said this outlet was equipped with chairs and attached tables beside the windows so customers could sit in and enjoy their pastries.
“We have wide varieties of cakes, more pastries choices, which is something new to Labasa and the entire northern division,” Ms Vosanibola said.

“This has only been available in the Suva and Lami branches. I urge everyone, all my tauvus, to come and enjoy what we have to offer.”
Trading hours for this branch are from 5am to 8pm, including on Sundays and public holidays.
“It is pretty unique; all the pastries you know available in Viti Levu will also be available here,” Ms Vosanibola said.
“We believe Labasa deserves better, and we’re here for it.”
