The Government has made its decision on the appointment of the Civil Aviation Authority of Fiji (CAAF) board members, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Civil Aviation, Viliame Gavoka, confirmed to SunBiz.
“We have an excellent board,” he said.
A list of names of board members was in his office.
CAAF is responsible for discharging functions on behalf of the Government within the aviation sector in line with the Convention on International Civil Aviation.
CAAF’s chief executive officer (CEO) position has been vacant for several years.
It is understood the then-FijiFirst Government was in the process of hiring a CEO late last year.
Theresa O’Boyle-Levestam whose career background is in air traffic control, has held the CEO’s post in an acting position since August, 2020.
According to the CAAF website, there are two board members, Satish Patel and Peceli Baleikorocau.
