Chaudhry Invited To Lead Board

Fiji Labour Party leader Ma­hendra Chaudhry has been invited to lead the Fiji Sugar Corporation board.

Minister for Sugar, Charan Jeath Singh made Government’s inten­tions known while meeting with the Nadi Chamber of Commerce and industry stakeholders on Fri­day. It was his first public engage­ment in Nadi.

Mr Singh said that it was key to have the right stakeholders to be on the sugar board.

“I know Mahendra Chaudhry, he is a very outspoken person. He has been defending sugarcane farm­ers and he was Sugar minister himself.

“I personally invited him to join the board which will be announced next week officially. We need peo­ple inclusively. It is about time to bring people together rather than separating and creating a hostile environment.”
