A mother’s love surpasses all barriers when it comes to her children. Hailia Liutai is one of many such examples. She started her business by selling handicraft items and sewn fabric, both of which were no easy feat.
With $500 to kick it off and the help of her husband, Ms Liutai started Delainimati Enterprise. She raised her personal standards in the business world. Ms Liutai said the reason she started the business was to cater for her two children’s needs.
“I grew up in Tonga where I learned to do all the crafts and printing,” she said.
“Generational traditional knowledge handed down was an essential part of my upbringing that has become useful today,” Ms Liutai said.
The 31-year-old said starting off her business was the hardest bridge to cross. But she pushed through the odds. Ms Liutai encourages young people who want to start their own business, to use available resources, for their own good.
