Miriama Latianara took up the challenge to work in a male dominated workforce.
She has been the legal officer for Maritime Safety Authority of Fiji for the past two years providing legal advice and status reports for certain cases.
“It’s quite challenging when bringing a woman’s perspective into the sector, however, its’ also quite fulfilling,” she said.
The former Natabua High School student hails from Bouma in Taveuni and has maternal links to Nuku, Cikobia in Vanua Levu.

Mobil Service Station Café –opposite Kadavu House and pies from Adi’s at Vanua arcade.
What do you do in your free time?
I love to read, watch movies and socialise with my friends.
What is one place in Fiji that remains on your bucket list?
Batiki, Kadavu and the Lau Groups.
