ANZ has committed a value of $20,000 in sponsorship for the Women in Business awards annual event.

Country Head, ANZ Fiji Rabih Yezbek said they were proud to recognise the unique talents of women in Fiji.

Mr Yezbek had invited a few of their senior female leaders who are talented experts in their fields.

“These three women leaders within our business have significant contributions to make, and I seek their counsel on and almost on a daily basis,” Mr Yezbek said.

“Our talented women in Fiji have significant contributions to make and the Women and Business Awards helps us recognise role models for young girls and women to look up to.”

“So whilst there has been a lot of progress made, I think it’s fair to say there’s still a lot of work to do, we’re not quite done yet.

“We need to find ways globally to empower, and encourage women to fulfill their professional and personal aspirations.”

“So all leaders can take actions to accelerate the advancement of women in leadership.”

Women make up 51 per cent of the workforce and at ANZ, Fiji, only 30 per cent of management roles.

Mr Yazbek said that as a management and leadership team they’re committed to improving the representation of women in management.

WIB president Nur Bano Ali acknowledged the sponsorship from ANZ as it acknowledged women’s contributions to business.

“The ANZ sponsored an inspiring award, women in the financial services sector and has moved the dial on diversity and inclusion and promoted the importance of an inclusive finance sector,” Ms Ali said.

“We have a great collaboration and advocacy from the banking system sector.”
