Fiji’s newest products, Seventh Heaven Fiji is now open.
The $4 million floating restaurant and bar anchored out in the Mamanuca’s offers a lifetime experience for locals and tourists.
It opened its doors to tourists and locals in April.
The pontoon’s owner and director is Eddy Rotteveel.
It was officially launched and opened by the Minister for Commerce, Trade, Tourism and Transport, Faiyaz Koya on Friday.
Seventh Heaven Fiji, is a name derived from a talanoa (conversation) session from a group of friends whose focus was to bring tourists and Fijians something spectacular, unique and fun.
In his address, Mr Koya said one of the most recognizing features of the business was that it shared the ethos of what the industry was built on – the care of Fiji’s pristine environment.
He said the investment added on to the growth of Fiji’s economy and supported the livelihoods of 36 Fijians and dozens of suppliers by creating jobs.
“As tourism stakeholders you are architects of what is to follow for the industry,” said Mr Koya.
“To Eddy and your partners, I hope you continue to invest in your business, your staff and the service you provide.
Mr Rotteveel said Seventh Heaven Fiji was a spectacular place for both tourists and locals.
He said the 6000 square feet pontoon had many wonderful features.
“To us, Seventh Heaven is simply iconic and we are delighted to showcase her to the world,” he said.
Tourists Arrival
Mr Koya said from January to July, Fiji received 284,167 visitors which was 56.4 per cent of arrivals in the same period in 2019.
He said Fiji received the highest number of tourists from Australia in July.
“These numbers show that we’re well in line with a full recovery by 2024,” he added.
