One of the country’s largest suppliers of hardware, building material and steel opened its first outlet in Lautoka Saturday, following popular demand from customers.
RC Manubhai and Company Limited’s new double story store instantly flooded with consumers when it opened at Challenge Plaza along Naviti Street on Saturday morning.
Members of the public inundated the spacious outlet to take advantage of opening specials.
Company national operations manager Ravindra Jayasinghe said continuous requests from customers about opening a branch in the Sugar City spurred them to finally extend its franchise of stores to Lautoka.
‘’There is a lot of development taking place in Lautoka’s central business district and we want to be part of that economic growth,’’ he added.
The additional employment rendered by this extension sees 55 new staff members in various departments.
Mr Jayasinghe said plans for this eighth RC Manubhai branch would include the introduction of new brands and products for the people of Lautoka.
‘’We have about 90,000 products here and this is the biggest outlet in Lautoka for the hardware industry. Alongside this store is our subsidiary company Glass and Mirrors,’’ he added.
Mr Jayasinghe said investment for the new outlet was about $1.3 million for the construction work with stocking of about 90,000 product lines.
