Pacific Technical and Further Education (TAFE) and the University of the South Pacific have once again fostered a stronger relationship.

This was possible through the opening of the $1.3 million investment at the Nadi Hospitality and Tourism Centre in Namaka.

The state of the art facility and a simulated-training centre focused on enthusiastic learners, interested in pursuing a career in the specialised fields of hospitality operations, commercial cookery and patisserie.

International Centre of Excellence in Tourism and Hospitality Education (The ICE), chief executive officer Pauline Tang said they designed and developed quality programmes to meet national and international benchmarks.

She said, “The industry strategic partners, colleges from government and non-government organisation and future learners are encouraged to take advantage of the opportunity by attaining education.”

Ms Tang also commended Vice Chancellor and President of the University of South Pacific, Professor Rajesh Chandra, that the University is a force to be reckoned with.

“Your commitment in embracing the challenges for the provision of outstanding quality education and research, in addressing the changing operating environment, and, in responding to the needs of the Pacific region is highly recommended.”
