KOICA Opens Office In Fiji

The Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) yesterday opened their office at Level 2, Ra Marama House.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Ambassador from the Embassy of the Republic of Korea, Kim Seong-in said he was happy with KOICA extending their office to Fiji which would further strengthen Fiji-Korea ties.

“This bilateral friendship and harmony between Fiji and Korea has provided the momentum to establish KOICA Fiji and I extend sincere gratitude to the Fijian Government for their kind support,” Seong-in said.

He added the Korean Government was looking forward to working with the Fijian Government and the people of Fiji.

“The Korean Government having opened the KOICA Fiji office is committed to fulfill its responsibility in addressing the regional development issues, largely climate change adaptation,” he said.

“This also shows the Korean Government’s willingness in contributing towards achieving the era of the people’s happiness worldwide.

“KOICA Fiji Office shall promote the health, renewable energy, climate change adaptation including improving marine infrastructure.”

Assistant Minister for Health and Medical Services, Veena Bhatnagar commended the Korean Government for extending their services to Fiji.

“This event marks both our Governments commitment and offer of friendship to promote a vibrant interchange of knowledge, culture and cooperation,” Bhatnagar said.
