Leaked documents from Apple indicate that the technology company has started production on an iWatch.
Mark Gurman, of 9to5Mac, reports a leaked letter that reveals the Apple production plant in Arizona has begun production on a sapphire screen for a piece of “jewellery”.
That classification as “jewellery” indicates that this is not the rumoured sapphire coating for the iPhone 6.
The letter, from Apple’s Director of Global Trade Compliance James J. Patton to the U.S. Department of Commerce, contains details that show that production would begin on the device with an “aggressive go-live timeline of August 2014”.
For Apple fans who want both a bigger iPhone and a iWatch for Christmas, this could be the best evidence yet that the iWatch is more than a rumour.
