Following the success of the inaugural Fijian tourism expo in May, Tourism Fiji has announced the 2015 event will take place in Fiji from June 16 to 18 at the Denarau Island Convention Centre.
After a competitive tender process, the Denarau Island Convention Centre was chosen to host expo again because of the success of this year’s event and the Centre’s ability to cater for an even bigger event next year.
Tourism Fiji Events Director, Sally Cooper, said: “After this year’s successful inaugural event, the interest in next year’s Fijian Tourism Expo is incredible.
“We expect the event to be significantly larger in 2015 with the addition of more niche operators and service providers from the wider tourism industry.”
Event organisers will work with a number of resorts to provide accommodation for the attendees of the event.
They will be showcasing a range of venues for the events and functions that are part of the main programme.
Pre and post FTE familiarisation tours will also be offered to showcase the wider Fiji to visiting travel industry specialists.
Reason for the dates
Tourism Fiji has purposefully selected dates immediately prior to Australian Tourism Exchange 2015, to be hosted in Melbourne, to make it easier for buyers from key long haul markets to make the most of their annual visits in the Pacific region.
“By timing FTE to run immediately prior to Australian Tourism Exchange, we hope to not only attract more long-haul buyers to Fiji,” Ms Sally said.
“We also hope give them the opportunity to understand and experience the great variety of tourism products we have to offer.”
