Nadroga villager Senitiki Nasave Naituyaga was the delighted winner of the fourth $30,000 Tattslotto ticket to be scratched this year.
The 37-year-old of Nayawa purchased the ticket at the Midtown Tattslotto Agency in Sigatoka on May 10 and returned hours later after discovering his lucky win at home.
Agency staff said he danced around the store after returning to inform them of his win.
Despite a speech and hearing impairment, his joy was also evident while receiving his cheque from Fiji Tattslotto’s resident executive director Graeme Brown in Sigatoka yesterday.
He was accompanied by his father, former national 7s and Nadroga Stallion player Aminiasi Naituyaga, who is the cousin of Fiji’s late ‘Steelman’, also of the same name.
Speaking to the Fiji Sun, his father said Senitiki’s win was a blessing for their family and would allow necessary renovations to their family home, beginning with a paint job.
“When I received the phone call about his win, I was shocked and we thank The Lord for this,” he said.
Senitiki, a farmer, is the eldest of four sons and a member of the Fiji Deaf Rugby and Volleyball Association.
