Vodafone Fiji joins global leading companies as one of the best in quality and service delivery.
This is after being awarded Asia Pacific Quality Organisation’s World Class Global Performance Excellence award.
Having celebrated its 20th anniversary in July and acquiring the remaining shares in Vodafone Group to own Vodafone Fiji Limited, the accolade was yet another assurance of the company’s unparalleled achievement.
Vodafone was among 11 global companies achieving World Class Award (Highest) in the Small Service category, the only company awarded under this category.
Vodafone managing director, Pradeep Lal said they were honoured and privileged to be the first company in Fiji to be recognised for a prestigious award such as this.
“Vodafone Fiji has always strived for performance excellence in the delivery of its services to its customers,” Mr Lal said.
“We are a company with a learning and innovation culture with quality performance as one of our main pillars.
“Our consistent quality performance over the last 20 years is reflected through the numerous business excellence accomplishments and the four consecutive President’s Award for Business Excellence in the country.”
Mr Lal added the award too puts the company under scrutiny.
“The recognition by an internationally recognised body such as APQO is an independent endorsement of quality as a performance culture at Vodafone Fiji.
“The recognition also puts us under greater scrutiny. We need to continue to deliver to the highest quality at all times to maintain credibility of our recognition as a world class organisation.”
Vodafone was among twenty organisations from eight Asian and Pacific Rim Countries recognised as an exemplary company delivering world class quality performance.
National Training and Productivity Centre director, Kamlesh Prakash congratulated the telecommunications company describing it as a momentous and historic achievement for Fiji.
“Vodafone has indeed been exemplary in its performance and management practices and leadership have greatly inspired and continue to inspire others in their pursuit of excellence,” Mr Prakash said.
“This outstanding new achievement of Vodafone is yet another milestone in your success story which to me is deeply rooted in your strong foundations of quality improvement and culture that you have built over the years, and the visionary leadership and excellence that is deployed at all levels.”
The awards official presentation will be made at the 20th APQO/International Conference on Quality in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia on November 23-26.
