The company launched the first three-dimensional (3D) printer in Fiji at the Fiji Showcase 2014 at the Vodafone Arena in Laucala Bay, Suva, this week. The company showed the 3D objects printed.
General manager, Jeetesh Kumar, said: “New products will be coming out soon as we want Fiji to be on par with information technology. We will launch it just like the new 3D printer.”
“The new 3D printer was brought in from America and it’s for anyone who has a hobby for designing.”
Janty Bondwell is a specialised computer business and the new printers will be available only at its retail outlet at 7 Moti Street in Samabula, Suva.
It previously used to be Bondwell, however, was purchased by Janty Kanvan this year and has since been operating as Janty Bondwell Limited.
Sales executive Amrita Naidu said: “The printer allows you to print objects that you want and designed using a computer. For example a flower vase or a pen holder in any size and it will print out.
“Depending on the object size being printed, it takes three to six hours to actual print the object.”
Mr Kumar said the 3D printer can be useful for somebody staying at home with a hobby for designing and can design a dinner plate differently from a normal plate.
“It’s all about creativity using your imagination which is your limit to create/design objects of choice using existing computers,” he said.
“If people from any other parts of Fiji want to buy one, we can deliver or ship it to them.”
Mr Kumar noted the trading environment was good and they were enjoying a stable economy.
