The Tanoa Hotel Group celebrated its 7TH Tanoa Hospitality Games in style with recognition of the staff efforts.
It was an atmosphere of excitement and fun at the Tanoa International Hotel in Nadi yesterday as staff from around the group gathered.
Group’s Area General Manager for Fiji and Samoa, Matthew Gillespie, said it was a day to embrace the Tanoa family and showcase skills and passion the Tanoa way.
“It is a day when we need to be courageous to stand up in front of our peers and represent ourselves, our departments and our own hotels,” said Mr Gillespie
“It’s all about celebrating success, both individual and team success, while not everyone can win.We should all be proud of our own efforts and those of our fellow team mates,” he said.
Reddy Group, director Kalpana Reddy, saidthrough the competitions, one would be able to evaluate oneself which can be an extremely powerful tool in progressing ahead.
She said for staff to draw on the knowledge, strength, confidence and the ability to perform second to one.
Group Training and Development Manager, Alamgeer Shah, said this was a way to help the staff succeed together, be passionate about the work.
“At Tanoa, our people are our main assets and hence we continuously seek to train, develop and empower them,” he said.
“It is all about recognising the talent we have, acknowledging it and reinforcing their abilities by providing them the appropriate platform to display their skills and flair”
“It provides the opportunity to test our departmental process and at the same time train and develop the newer employees hence a win- win situation for all”
Illisapeci Waqa, Supervisor for Tanoa Skylodge Food and Beverages Department said this was a way for staff to know each other better and engage in competition.
“This helps us be better employees and improves the level of communication amongst staff,” said Waqa.
