A little less than two months into being launched, and Air Pacific’s Fiji Airways Airbus A330 is already gaining international recognition.
Our national airline’s livery has ranked top on TheDesignAir website. Since its inception last year, has become a recognised source of opinion in the airline industry.
Air Pacific’s stunning livery on the brand new Airbus A330 was crowned number one. This is amongst the six airlines of the Pacific rim which made up the top ten liveries of the year.
What the website applauded the most was the dramatic change from Air Pacific’s current image and a purposeful return to its roots.
“This wonderful ‘heritage-bound’ national design using pacific tribal patterns and emblems show a proud cultural image that will stand out at its international destination airports of Sydney, Auckland, Hong Kong and Los Angeles,” it said.
“It appears as something still exotic.
“Whilst on a ‘Eurowhite fuselage’, it could have had the fate of many new liveries, and appear bland and simplistic, but it’s actually got a strong logotype, bold tailfin and interesting nacelles, that draw the eye all over the well balanced airframe.
“Airlines like Fiji Airways shows that we still are producing wonderful, inspiring liveries even today.”
Proud moment for Air Pacific
Air Pacific spokesman, Shane Hussein, said: “We’re obviously delighted the new Fiji Airways livery continues to get accolades.
“It’s a testament to brilliant work of our artist Makereta Matemosi, whose masi art makes up our new livery.
“This is combined with the efforts of our own Air Pacific team who worked with her to create this new identity and apply it on our aircraft.”
PM to receive second Airbus
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Commodore Voreqe Bainimarama has already left the country for France where he will receive the second of three Air Pacific’s Airbus.
The second Airbus will arrive in the country on May 23.
