Retail veteran Rakhita Jayawardena, president of King Power Traveller, was named Inflight Personality of the Year at the annual Airline Retail Conference in London the past week.
Mr Jayawardena is the very person whom Fiji Airways has signed a full concession service contract with for the provision of an inflight Duty Free sales service onboard its entire international fleet.
King Power Traveller will work with Fiji Airways to relaunch and manage the airline’s inflight Duty Free retail service as part of its strategy of quality product and passenger service enhancements.
Introducing world class Duty Free product range, and will include unique Fijian Products and merchandising.This cooperation will generate significant ancillary revenue for Fiji Airways
The long years of service
Meanwhile, the accolade in London recognises Mr Jayawardena’s long service to the industry as well as his contribution to progress and debate within the sector. The past year, Mr Jayawardena celebrated his 30th year in inflght retail.
