While tourism expositions have been a near-annual feature for years, local wholesalers have lauded the inaugural Fijian Tourism Expo as one of the best so far.
Reapi Nayacakalou, the reservations and sales manager for Navutu Stars Resorts, commended the expo’s exclusivity to Fijian properties and service providers.
“I have been going to these expos for the past nine years and this is one of the best we have had because it is just for Fijian properties and so we are not competing with other regions,” she said.
“We are able to showcase who we are, and sell what we have without having to think of the competition that other regional countries bring. It is a win-win situation for everyone.”
Like other industry services with booths at the event, Ms Nayacakalou capitalised on the hordes of international industry partners that packed the convention center for scheduled appointments and dealings.
“It has been really productive in the sense we have new people coming in, and buyers really keen buyers,” she said.
