A $9 million 12-apartment complex is in the making on Berry Road in Suva.
The Berry Road Apartment complex is a four-and-half storey building, on freehold land. It is owned by the Tappoo Group of Companies’ property investment arm-Bright Star Investment Ltd.
Apartment project manager Vijay Naidu said the idea behind investing into a project as such was the capital’s trends in demand for high end accommodation.
Mr Nadi is also the general manger for Tappoo Limited properties.
“This is quite an interesting development basically because there is a demand for high end accommodation,” Mr Naidu said.
“For us, it is great to be doing something like this because we’ve also got high end tenants in TappooCity.
“We’re filling that gap in the market. If you go out to Suva you will see many apartments, houses and flats but you’ll hardly find high end accommodation.
Apartment interest, Mr Naidu said, had been overwhelming given the short span in advertising rental with over 100 genuine enquiries.
Mr Naidu said, there will be 13 strata titles available.
“Because there’s 12 apartments, there will be 13 titles. The thirteenth title will be shared amongst the apartment owners which covers facilities like pool, carpark etc.
“This is very popular overseas. A lot of developments like these are happening in Australia and New Zealand and Fiji has got an excellent population not only locals but visitors who come for work here.”
The complex is earmarked to open this October having started in mid year last year.
