Moccona Coffee has been available in some supermarkets in Fiji for a number of years but there has been no really strong marketing presence.
Now, Yees Cold Storage has been appointed by the parent company, Douwe Egbert, to handle the brand in the Fijian market.
Douwe Egbert is a very large international coffee company and the Moccona brand is in over 176 countries worldwide.
Douwe Egbert, the man who started the company, ran a small store in the village of Joure in the Netherlands and in 1753 started selling specialist coffees.
In the next 260 years, the company expanded to become today’s huge operation, but they have never lost their focus on producing the finest possible coffee.

Availability in Fiji
In Fiji it will initially be available in 50g, 100g, 200g, and 400g packs. Moccona Coffee, in the distinctive glass jars, is available in most supermarkets is Fiji, and there are plans to introduce other styles of coffee at a later date.

Moccona coffee
Moccona is a freeze dried, medium roast coffee with a smooth taste, a full bodied flavor and a rich coffee aroma.
It is sold in a resealable glass jar, which preserves to full flavor and which can later be used to store other products.

UTZ-certified
Moccona is UTZ certified by the largest certification society in the world, providing a third party assurance that the product is made from coffee beans that are produced in a socially and environmentally responsible way.
Moccona is one of the largest buyers of UTZ certified coffee beans.
UTZ also has programmes that help farmers improve their business practices and meet the expectation of buyers in the international market.

Helping the farmers
Douwe Egbert also has its own group, the Douwe Egbert Foundation, that is dedicated to helping coffee farmers to improve the quality of their production, introduce sustainable farming practices and they assist in finding markets.
The Foundation focuses on small scale coffee producers who are often left out of larger schemes.
