Endowment background
Dr TK Jayaraman, a former academic of the university, provided the $10,000 endowment funding to reward outstanding students studying advanced Monetary Economics at the post-graduate level.
The interest from the endowment will be used to award a yearly prize of $250 to the top ranking student taking the EC410 course at the university. Dr Jayaraman said rewards was about giving back to the university, the community and to encourage the university staff to provide all support and resources.
The endowment was initiated in 2011 and was formally signed by the Vice-Chancellor and President of USP, Professor Rajesh Chandra and Dr Jayaraman at the Laucala Campus on July 10, 2012.
