McDonald’s Fiji will be holding their inaugural McHappy Day event in their restaurants today.
McDonald’s Fiji marketing manager, Akash Narsey said McHappy Day is an annual event for McDonald’s restaurants worldwide whereby a percentage of that day’s sales go towards charity.
The McDonald’s Fiji restaurants will be organising a main event at their restaurant in Laucala Bay which will include an outside broadcast in partnership with FBC as well as the hosting of various games and competitions for children.
“All three restaurants will be giving out balloons and offer face painting for kids to commemorate this day,” Mr Narsey said.
McDonald’s Fiji fundraising efforts include the sale of $1 McHappy Day Smiles from April 11 to May 11 and the donation of $1 from every McValue Meal sold on McHappy Day.
Mr Narsey said the response for the McHappy Smiles have been very positive with all three restaurants exceeding expectations.
“The proceeds from the fundraising will go directly towards Fiji Kid’s! Learning for Life,” he said.
“This is a charitable organisation based out of Sigatoka whose focus is on connecting less fortunate families with sponsors who provide the funds to ensure their children are able to attend school.”
