Vera Chute took over the reins to run a family-owned business after her father’s insistence to do so. It was a tough decision for her having to leave her job but she obeyed.
And last Saturday that obedience paid off when she took the top award amongst her peers.
Ms Chute is the proud managing director of what Lenora Qereqeretabua described as many Fijian women’s Victoria’s Secret, the second-hand clothing and accessory company, Value City (SP) Limited.
In receiving the award, an emotional Ms Chute told women: “We have proved that we can succeed in what was predominantly a man’s world.
“Thank you for seeing my abilities,” she told her parents.
She thanked and glorified God for the achievement and her family and team who were the rock and foundation to the successful running of the business.
