An InterContinental Fiji Golf Resort & Spa staff member has been appointed the director of Sales and Marketing at Holiday Inn Resort Benoa Bali.
Jocelyn Whiteside, a Suva-born and Yat Sen graduate, joined InterContinental Fiji’s sales force taking up the local Business Development Director position.
She had 13 years of experience in Fiji’s tourism industry.
Holiday Inn Benoa Bali, due to open later this year, and InterContinental Fiji Golf Resort & Spa are part of the InterContinental Hotel Group (IHG).
Ms Whiteside’s appointment has been as a result of IHG’s ‘Room to Grow’ programme.
This supports and develops the group’s people to pursue rewarding careers through personal development plans, mentoring programmes, cross training opportunities, structured learning, and the IHG job referral programme.
InterContinental Fiji general manager, Scott Williams, said: “We were thrilled to have someone of Jocelyn’s caliber join the team.
“She has been an incredible asset and a key influencer in driving results in the wholesale, meetings, incentives, conference and events markets for the resort for the last two and a half years.”
Ms Whiteside described the professional development opportunities within IHG to be incredible.
“My success would not have been possible without the support of my team here at the resort,” she said.
“I’m look forward to discovering Bali, taking on the challenges of my new role, and continuing my journey with IHG. This is an amazing opportunity and I am beyond excited!”
