Better bus rides are now being provided for the people of the Northern Division after Dalip Chand and Sons Limited introduced their new buses yesterday and more are coming.
The two buses will be used for the Boubale routes in Labasa.
Managing director Rohnil Chand said this year the company targets to get 10 new buses to add to its growing fleet.
“Last year we got in around 12 buses and as the year has begun we got two and will get in the next lot soon,” Mr Chand said.
He said all the new buses are now covering all the Dalip Chand routes and the old buses have been removed.
Meanwhile, the company is not facing any problems with the road conditions.
“The roads are starting to improve, but we would be happier if the Government would make e-ticketing cashless so the company can make more investments”.
He said e-ticketing should be cashless, it’s better for the company and the Government as well.
“All Dalip Chand buses are running 100 per cent e-ticketing as they have machines installed in all the buses.
“Some of the passengers are using their mpaisa cards; however there are those who are still using cash.”
He said getting new buses in the North is a big investment for the company and the people.
Dalip Chand and Sons Limited currently services the Nabekavu, Doquru, Batanikama, Line Point, Lajonia, Tiri, Wailevu, Bocalevu, Bua, Qelewaqa, Nadawa Street, Soap Factory, Labasa/ Savusavu, Savu / Labasa, Lowcoast routes.
