New York: Australia’s Qantas Airways has been named the world’s safest carrier for 2013 among 448 airlines by AirlineRating.com, CNN reported.
Air New Zealand ranked second, followed by Emirates Airline, Etihad Airways and Cathay Pacific. Singapore Airlines took sixth place, ahead of Virgin Atlantic, Taiwan’s Eva Air, Japan’s All Nippon Airways and Royal Jordanian.
The rankings were based on a range of categories including audits from governing bodies in the world of aviation and the airlines’ fatality and accident records.
