Fiji’s Adventure Capital will undergo an array of activities this year by focusing more on communicating with its tourism markets with an ongoing investment on a marketing campaign programme.
Pacific Harbour Tourism Association steering committee member, Alfred Christoffersen in a recent interview said this is part of re-establishing their brand and image as their core activities.
“Communicating with the market makes up the early stages of our plans and following on from this is a focus on infrastructure development and improvements focused in tourism,” Mr Christoffersen said.
“The association currently invested on a marketing campaign from website, to social media, monthly newsletters emailed to those in the database, and brand new roadside signage.
“Sharing valuable information amongst members is critical for us to operate as one entity in marketing and planning for the region’s tourism future as a primary goal.”
Revitalisation
The committee said the move to revitalise Pacific Harbour’s brand is well-timed, the destination demonstrating significant growth over the last 24 months.
This is evident with ongoing developments through Papua New Guinea investment in The Pearl Resort, Spa & Championship Golf Course and American investment in the Nanuku Resort development.
Benefits
Mr Christofferson said the direct benefits include the economics of a good industry which is from employment to outlets for produce and goods which are very important.
“With greater business in the area will mean better infrastructure in our region from schools, to roads, to power and water.”
Three years
Over the last three years there has been a huge growth and creation of new businesses from resorts, restaurants, shops, day tours and other activities, Mr Christoffersen said.
“Pacific Harbour provides a unique location to holiday in Fiji and this allows us to attract new types of travellers to the region, ultimately adding another great feature or purpose to visit Fiji,” he said. This ultimately benefits the entire community from residents, to businesses, and the community as a whole.”
About the association
The original Pacific Harbour Tourism Association was established in the early 1990’s with a focus on marketing our tourist numbers to the area and establish Fiji as a main tourism player.
“The steering committee is made up of six individuals who all own or operate businesses in Pacific Harbour,” he said.
“Each member brings unique skills set to the team from planning to its execution that focuses individually on various tasks, in alignment with an overall plan and strategy.”
